Sunderland Sports Fund

Sunderland Sports Fund is a charitable trust fund which raises money to provide financial aid for Sunderland's talented young sports people and disabled sports people of all ages.

Grants are awarded to talented individuals who live, attend school or represent a club in Sunderland.

Sunderland Sports Fund can help with money towards:

• Coaching fees
• Specialist equipment
• Travel expenses to competitions
• Accommodation expenses to national competitions

The panel meets 4 times a year with the last meeting taking place in February 2010. In total over £2000 was awarded to Sunderland's young, talented athletes (who qualified for a grant) from disciplines such as Karate, Judo, Badminton and Bowling.
