Active Sunderland Week...! 

Between the 2nd and 8th August 2010, many of the city's sports clubs and activity groups are throwing open their doors and welcoming new participants and beginners! If you have always wanted to try a particular sport or activity this is your chance...

Many sessions will be offered free of charge and are suitable for beginners, or those who haven't taken part in a while but would love the chance to get back into sport and activity. Sports and activities range from cricket, rugby and running to dance, gymnastics and swimming. There is something for everyone!

International Beach Soccer Tournament Comes to Sunderland!

From 30th July - 1st August there will be an international beach soccer tournament in a specially built sand arena at the Stadium of Light. Find out more.

Active Sunderland Beach Festival

As part of Active Sunderland Week (as well as the beach soccer and all the other activities happening) there will be a beach festival on Wednesday 4th August taking place at Roker Beach and Park. Beach rugby, beach soccer, volleyball, Nordic walking, cycling and judo are just a few of the activities on offer during the day long festival! Read more.
