How to... Achieve Accreditation
Accreditation is a formal recognition or a quality stamp for your club. Gaining formal recognition of your hard work will no doubt improve the status of your club!
Sports Specific Accreditation
There are many different sports specific accreditation schemes that National Governing Bodies (NGB) run. Contact the
NGB for your sport to find out more.
Clubmark
Clubmark is the only cross sports quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. There is a set of core criteria which ensure accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.
Clubs who have gained clubmark may see the following advantages:
- Increased membership
- Member retention
- Continuous improvement
- Funding
- The chance to develop coaches
- More volunteers
- A raised profile
- More links with schools and other organisations
- Marketing and communications through Clubmark
- Club development
To apply for Clubmark accreditation your club must be registered with a Sport England recognised National Governing Body. A club is accredited via either its licensed
National Governing Body
(NGB) or
County Sports Partnership(CSP)
Working towards your accreditation involves developing a club development plan (hyperlink), which includes having a child protection policy, demonstrating a coaching plan and having up to date public liability insurance.
